Get back on track again.
My name is Monica Mason, I am a highly qualified counsellor/psychotherapist practising psychodynamic therapy from my private practice in West London, Mayfair W1. As an accredited BACP member I am committed to providing counselling and therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to live your life more fully.
My approach as a counsellor
My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is psychodynamic. Patterns of behaviour and relationships start forming early on in life. As we all have different experiences from childhood, the way we relate to difficulties and relationships varies from person to person depending on both past experiences and innate personality.
We all know how it feels wanting to change, finding it difficult and wondering why. This approach aims to provide more clarity and knowledge. By exploring both past and present, links can be made to increase your understanding of a particular problem and thereby easing the way to make changes. I will be guiding you through so that when you feel ready to make changes you will have the support of weekly counselling to fall back on. Therapy can also help you develop new ways of coping when you go through a difficult time in your life. I will provide you with support as well as challenge when appropriate. With increased self knowledge and awareness you are often in a better position to deal with things as you have more choices in how you react and act in a difficult situation.

Moving country can be exciting as well as unsettling. I have a vast experience dealing with with different issues relating to this. Whether you have come to London to work or study, living here permanently or for a limited time, it is easy to feel isolated and home sick at times. You might feel it can be a struggle making new friends as well as trying to adapt to a new culture, different customs and work climate. Issues that you thought you left behind might sometimes re-emerge in your new location. Counselling can help you addressing those issues and show you a way forward.
